Cookbook Sales Continue for the Holidays

Saturdays, November 7, 14, and 21
11 am to 1 pm

During the summer months, the Membership Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick (UUCB) began selling their newly printed cookbooks on the sidewalk in front of the church.  The sales have been profitable, but the goal is to sell ALL the cookbooks to raise funds for the church.  In the year of Covid-19, all the church’s fundraising events have been cancelled, so income from the Cookbooks helps to recover some of the monies lost.

The title of the cookbook (“SoUUps On”) comes from one of the church’s community events that is held annually.  “SoUUps On” is a potluck event where church members bring soups, chilis, breads, and desserts to share.  The delicious food inspired the Membership committee to share these and other members’ recipes in a cookbook.  The whimsical spiral bound cookbook costs $10 and features 250 recipes divided into 6 different sections:

  • Soups & Salads
  • Breads (including rolls. biscuits, muffins, and scones)
  • Main Dishes (including breakfast/brunch, meat, seafood, vegetarian, vegan, and pasta dishes)
  • Side dishes
  • Appetizers, and
  • Desserts

The book also contains many pages of helpful cooking hints along with a few colored pictures of the church and its events.

If you are not able to pick the book up during the appointed time, contact Sue Michaud at 207-729-4857 or to make alternative arrangements.  For an extra $3.50, the book can be mailed to you or a loved one.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick is located at the corner of Pleasant Street and Middle Street, across the street from the library.
