The UUCB Concerts for a Cause series presents Maine’s popular and award-winning Don Campbell Band on Saturday, September 20th at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick, 1 Middle Street, Brunswick to raise money for local charities.  (The 2025-26 charities will be selected in July.)

The award-winning Don Campbell Band is a highly versatile, energetic ensemble, which blends many musical genres.  Their music could be called “American crossover” akin to the Eagles and John Cougar Mellencamp. The band has been a mainstay at concerts, fairs, festivals, cruises, and civic events for over two decades, performing a mix of Campbell’s own heartfelt, original creations, and the music of Dan Fogelberg, The Smithereens, Johnny Cash, John Denver and Van Halen… there’s never a dull moment with their presentations.

Don Campbell: Fronting the band is Don Campbell, an award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, and lead singer/songwriter.

Don won a $50,000.00 Grand Prize at Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry with his original music, a Grand Prize custom Gibson Les Paul guitar from Jim Beam’s Back Room Band Search, and he’s a six-time winner of the title, “Maine’s Best Singer-Songwriter” from the Maine Sunday Tele- gram’s Annual Reader’s Poll. He has also received recognition for his Double CD Release, Kites To Fly – Celebrating The Music of Dan Fogelberg. Officially endorsed in April of 2014 by the Fogelberg Association of Peoria, he and bandmates tour the country performing “An Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music. In 2022, Don was inducted into the Maine Country Hall of Fame.

Don has written and released 12 CDs. Additionally, he has been commissioned to write songs for specific organizations and occasions including “A Friend Right Here,” as the National Theme Song for Visiting Nurses Association of America.

Tom Dyhrberg: Bassist and Harmony Vocalist with a keen attention to detail and song feel.

Tom Yoder: Fiddle, Mandolin, Keyboard and Electric Guitar, basically, a “Swiss Army Knife” of a musician with high energy.

John DeQuattro: Electric Guitar, Aficionado, follows every detail from Don’s Original Music Recordings and the recordings of any songs which the band may cover, to a “T”.

Gino Grassi: A drummer with a “sensitive touch” for expertly, matching the feel, volume and groove to fit the song. Like a fine chef, only using spices when absolutely necessary.

Combine all of these elements and you get a band that performs “for” the audience, not “at” the audience. A high-caliber, well-rehearsed group who will leave you wanting more when their performance has ended.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $10 for students/children.  Available at the church office (729-8515), Gulf of Maine Books, or online at https://ticketstripe.com/doncampbell
