This interactive workshop with Shay Stewart-Bouley, of the blog “Black Girl in Maine,” combines lecture and small group work, allowing participants to deepen their knowledge of racism, exam in their own biases, and learn techniques for starting conversations on racism in predominantly white spaces. This is the third in UUCB’s Many Voices: Widening the Listening Circle series.
Thanks to a generous Community Building grant from the Maine Community Foundation, our Working for Justice Steering Group is hosting a series of programs to engage the community in transformative learning focused on racial, ethnic and cultural discrimination. The three part series of interactive workshops and programs will be put on by groups, individuals, or organizations that have experienced such prejudice. All events will take place at UUCB and are free and open to the public. More about the series.
