Welcoming Congregation is a Unitarian Universalist program to raise awareness and work to prevent discrimination against people of differing gender or sexual orientations.
The designation of “Welcoming Congregation” is conferred upon Unitarian Universalist congregations that are open, affirming and inclusive toward bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgendered people.
On Sunday, December 10, 2006, sixty members of the UU Church of Brunswick voted unanimously to become an official Welcoming Congregation. Nearly a decade of organization and education in the UUCB community supported our enthusiasm for this decision. We proudly display our All Are Welcome banner, and continue to stand in joyous affirmation of equal rights for all.
